Natural Curiosity presents…

Stories from Yukon: A Whole School Approach to Natural Curiosity

Dear Educators,

Thank you for your enthusiasm and support for our 2021 webinar series, Embracing the Shift: Sharing Our Pandemic Stories of Connecting to Land and Children’s Natural Curiosity! In our kick-off webinar, we heard from Doug Anderson (Author of Natural Curiosity) and David Osorio (JICS Lab School) about their inspiring collaboration towards bringing children into an engaging and reciprocal relationship with the natural world, through story and Indigenous perspectives. This webinar recording can be accessed for free or pay-what-you-can here, along with all past NC webinars.

Our second webinar in this series, Stories from Yukon: A Whole School Approach to Natural Curiosity, will take place on February 18th, 2021, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm EST. We are thrilled to welcome Denise McDiarmid (Hidden Valley Elementary), George Bahm (First Nations Experiential Advisor), Jesse Jewell (Experiential Education Curriculum Consultant) from Yukon Education! They will share about land-based learning and the importance of Indigenous perspectives from a Yukon context, and the story of how the staff and students at Whitehorse’s Hidden Valley Elementary embraced their Natural Curiosity journey through COVID-19. You can register here.

We are grateful to everyone who participated so far, and inspired us to persist in creating these opportunities to connect and learn together during continuously uncertain times. We hope you will join us on February 18th as we continue our journey to decolonize our practice and reconcile with the natural world through the four branches of Natural Curiosity, in community.

In Reciprocity,

The Natural Curiosity Team
