Mother’s Day Event: From the Heart, Mothers’ Voices on Climate Action

What motivates mothers to speak up about climate action? Where do they find their inspiration and energy?

Tune in on May 8th to hear the stories of two For Our Kids’ team leaders.

Natalie Caine from Pour nos enfants/For Our Kids Montreal and Tarlan Razzaghi from For Our Kids Vancouver will share their thoughts about becoming climate activists in their communities and how each of us has a valuable contribution to make.

Marie-Eve Leclerc will share the story of Mères au front, a Quebec-based group started by a handful of mothers who came together through a mutual feeling of despair about the climate crisis, and which has grown to more than 3,000 members. You’ll also hear an inspiring message by Mackenzie Harris, a student activist and national organizer with Climate Strike Canada Mackenzie is a graduate student at the University of Guelph, Ontario and is currently working on local-level climate and social justice issues with Fridays for Future Guelph.

We’re thrilled to have Reid Jamieson and Carolyn Victoria Mill of the Reid Jamieson Band join us as musical guests! This vocal powerhouse from Vancouver is known for their performances on CBC’s Vinyl Cafe and at the Vancouver Folk Festival, they’ve recorded with Cowboy Junkies and have a new album of original music just released. You will love hearing this dynamic duo sharing a beautiful tribute to mothers.
